You have found your way to the One Day in the Life Blog. People from different or similar walks of life will post accounts of their daily tasks and happenings. We would love to post your daily story for others to read, admire, compare, and contrast. If you're willing to have a log of your day posted, please email onedayinthelifeblog@gmail.com. You're free to make it however you wish, but the more detailed you make it, the more fun it will be to read. Also, make sure you include your occupation to serve as the title of your post, as well as you age, sex, and any other information you want to include.
Hopefully this blog serves to clear up curiosity when your friend tells you they've been so busy, and then says "made some calls...just a bunch of stuff," when you inquire deeper.

Poker Player

9:30 am- Alarm went off. (Went to sleep at 1:30, so save it) Grabbed my phone to turn the alarm off. TV goes on CNBC to see Bernanke talking about the economy. My plan was to work out, come home, then go to Commerce (casino/poker room) to play poker, but the plan was amended when I heard the sound of rain on the roof. The only thing worse than LA drivers is LA drivers in the rain, so I'm not willing to battle them on the first day of rain that I can remember.
Now I start browsing through my phone while waking up. Mail, stocks, weather, facebook, twitter, back and forth scrabble games (app is called words with friends). During this, I turn on a DVRed program that I fell asleep to last night.

10:30 am- Get to the desk in my room to start playing online poker. It's still up for grabs as to whether I'm

going to Commerce or not based on the rain.

Noon- end my online poker session. The results weren't good, but I felt that I played well, so I wasn't upset at all. That's the way it goes sometimes.
I go to the kitchen to grab a banana before showering then heading to the gym. Bananas are gone, so I cooked 2 pieces of toast. (Side note: Food poisoning hit my Friday night, so my food consumption has been limited to crackers on Saturday night and Sunday and soup Sunday night).
After this I decided I was feeling ready to play another short session of online poker before hitting the gym. I usually only play 1-2 hours max at a time when playing online because I play 8-12 tables at a time which takes a lot of locus and concentration which starts to lapse after a while.

1 pm- End the session. This one was slightly positive. I'm the slightest bit annoyed because I felt pretty in the zone, and had nothing to show for it. jump in the shower and head to the gym. My stomach felt very uneasy from food poisoning lingering or lack of food, so I got through the lift, but nixed cardio because I've heard that throwing up on fitness equipment is frowned upon by 24 hour fitness employees and members.

2:30 pm- Get to Corner Bakery for some soup in a bread bowl, but somehow the bakery is out of bread bowls so I go with a half salad and cup of soup. While eating I'm perusing my phone, playing some scrabble etc, and I think of the idea for this blog.

3:30 pm- Go home expecting to play some more online poker. On the way home I notice the sun completely out with scattered rain clouds around and heavy wind. The ocean looks amazing, so I park at home and go for a quick walk on the beach.

4:30 pm- Fire up another session of poker. Ugg, no good again. Good thing I do this almost everyday so it's easy to realize that it will turn around based on a large sample of history.

6:30 pm- Decide to throw this blog together. I'm kind of excited to see if my friends will oblige so I can see how every one's days look. I'm realizing that I really have no idea what anyone does during the day on a micro scale. Not only do I think it will be entertaining to read, I think people can benefit form reading other people's days and possibly giving/accepting feedback.
It takes a little bit because I'm immersed in a couple forms of e-chat which is a huge time sponge, but I don't mind it.

8 pm- Grab a PBJ from the kitchen. Watch a little TV with a roommate that got home a bit ago.

9 pm- Fire up some online poker. This session went better, so all is well in the universe.

11 pm- I'm ready to throw on a movie and call it a night. This is a bit early for me, but that's ok.
